Pacific Solar & Photovoltaics, a division of Hagens Incorporated, was created in early 2008. Hagens Inc. has been doing business in and around Micronesia, in varying capacities, for the past 30 plus years. The founders, officers, and managers can trace their roots on Guam going back many, many generations.

Hagens Inc. is a female, minority, locally owned small business, 8(a), SBA and HUBZone certified organization fully qualified to conduct business in Guam on both private sector and on the military establishments. Hagens Inc. takes pride in supporting the local economy. As much as possible, materials and services are purchased on Guam and what can’t be bought on Guam is brought in from USA. 100% of Hagens Inc. employees are local, and like the officers of the company, can trace their roots on Guam for several generations.

In 2008 Pacific Solar & Photovoltaics was created and most of the first year in business was filled with industry training, aligning with US vendors, and designing a roof-mount system that can withstand up to 170 mph sustained winds.

In early 2009 Pacific Solar & Photovoltaics “flipped the switch” on Guam’s first NET Metered photovoltaic system. This first system was in line with the launch of Guam Power Authority’s interconnection agreement for renewable energy sources. Throughout 2009 we continued to install the next 5 net metered PV systems as well as several residential solar hot water systems.

In 2010, several residential projects as well as a few medium commercial projects were completed to include the Guam Community College and the Hagens Inc. warehouse. The Hagens Inc. warehouse was the first and so far the only Guam business to receive the USDA REAP grant for the installation of a photovoltaic system.

In early 2011, a 50KW photovoltaic system was installed for Louis Vuitton at the Tumon Sands Plaza which was the largest privately owned PV system on island, at that time. Also in 2011, an additional 95KW PV system was installed for NavFac Marianas as well as a handful of residential clients.

2013 is proving to be our best year ever with over 205KW of PV already installed. In addition, Pacific Solar & Photovoltiacs has achieved the SolarWorld Authorized Installer status and won the global award. Locally, Pacific Solar & Photovoltiacs is an active member of the newly formed Guam Renewable Energy Association and the Guam Chamber of Commerce. We have introduced the island of Guam to Solar Power Purchase Agreements and have been spending the past few months pursuing potential investors and host customers.
